The two girls actually went down to Grandma's the night before and spent the night. It was the first night that I was away from Hannah since she was born. The girls had a great time with two grandma's and an auntie all spoiling them.
They organized a Norwegian birthday celebration and Sophia helped Grandma Betty make Norwegian dumplings (kumla). Sophia picked out her birthday cake and it had pink frosting on it. She got a pink and purple Fisher Price kitchen to go with all the other kitchen items which she had gotten as going away gifts and other birthday presents from Grandma Jean, Grandpa Duane, and Grandma Betty. She LOVES playing with it and woke up at 6:15 the day after her birthday and wanted to play with it.
Not sure about Sophia's height and weight. We go to the new doctor in August but I do know that she is still tall and thin as a rail.
She has been having some temper issues lately. She has been throwing temper tantrums mostly at the house and does not want to do what we ask. The other day she even laughed at Joel as he tried to put her in time out. So now we are no longer giving warnings but instead if she does not listen and disobeys she goes right to her room so that she can regroup and so that we can regroup as well. Not a punishment as much as a we all need to be apart for a bit. This seems to be working better. She also has been doing better since we went and visited her daycare. I think that the lack of routine in the new place is really getting to her. She starts officially this Wednesday so we will see how that goes. I hope that we have found a good provider.
At 3 Sophia loves to imagine and role play. We have made a dress up area, kitchen area, and baby area in the play area in the family room for her. It is nice that they have a place to have everything of their out and organized that is not our living room but close to the living space.
Sophia loves reading, swinging, going to the park, and just a few days ago figured out how to use the pedals on her new trike. So she is really enjoying that.
We will work on getting a chair and bear picture.
