We have arrived home after a 10 day trip in Texas. We had a great time visiting Joel's family. We got to see his parents and his brother and his family who live in Wisconsin as well as his sister and her family who live in Austin, as well as Joel's grandpa who is 91 and most of Joel's aunts, uncles, and cousins.
It was quite the scene with 8 grandkids running around for a week together. Sophia was quite overwhelmed with it all and decided that she did not want to sleep or nurse because she might miss something. So whenever all the other cousins were around she would just cry and cry if I took her in a room away from the action. As the days went on she got more and more fussy since she was just exhausted and hungry. On the last day she fell asleep at dinner at 6 and woke up at midnight to eat and then back to sleep until 6 a.m.
After we arrived home and she had a rough day back the first day and was still very fussy. Thankfully she was at daycare that day. Today the second day back she has been much better and is not resisting nursing or napping as much. I hope that we are getting back into a better routine. Traveling is hard for kids but it was worth it to see family.
Here is a picture of Sophia with all her cousins. As you can see she does not want to look at the camera but instead at all her cousins.
