Six Months Old

Sophia went to the doctor yesterday for her six month check up. She weighs 13 pounds 12 ounces. Her weight is in the 25%. She is 27 inches long and is in the 90% in length. No wonder I have such a hard time figuring out clothes for her. Her pants always seem to be high waters but if I get larger size pants that fit in the length they fall off her butt. She is just a long, thin child.
She is eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and bannanas once a day. She polishes off a bowl in no time flat. We can't get the food to her mouth fast enough. So we are going to move to two meals a day. Maybe she will gain a little weight.

She loves putting EVERYTHING in her mouth - her toys, her hands, the newspaper, anyone's nose if you are holding her, mommy's hair - essentially whatever she can get her hands on it goes in the mouth. I had quite a time getting the picture with the bear this time because she would not leave the bear alone. She kept picking it up and putting it in her mouth or leaning over to try and eat it. So I finally gave up trying to get her to look at me and smile and just took the picture.
She is not quite able to sit on her own yet but can tripod where she leans on her hands and sits up for awhile before she falls over. Now that she is six months old the doctor said that we can let her cry herself to sleep. We started teaching her to put herself to sleep a couple days ago and she already seems to get the hang of it. Last night she went down at 10:30 and woke up at 6 a.m. The night before it was 9:30 to 5 a.m. We are thankful we are starting to catch up on our sleep.
