I am the Queen of Excuses

Who knew that at 19 months old Hannah would be the master at delay tactics when she doesn't want to do something. It started a few weeks ago when she started giving excuses when she went to bed. Sometimes "Eat, eat." and then she would run out the door to go and get food. Once in bed - "Poopy diaper. Poopy diaper." Even though she just had a new diaper on and was not poopy. But she learned that if she said "Poopy diaper" we would take her out of the crib.
Well, today it went to the next step. We were playing at the park and I told Sophia we had 2 more minutes for her to swing. Then I told Hannah that we were going to slide just one more time. Every other time she would climb up the stairs of the large play structure with a number of slides and other things and go right up the stairs to the slide she liked. Then when she got to the bottom would yell, "Again." and then go back to the stairs. Well, this time, the last time, she climbed those stairs, went to another slide which she does not like because it is too steep, looked down, turned around, went back to the center, then found some other things to play with up there. All the time I am telling Hannah, "Go down the slide. This is the last time." She just ignored me and kept playing. Finally when I started to climb the stairs to get her did she go down the slide.
Who knew that she could figure out so many different delay tactics already. I think that we are in for it as she grows up. She is too smart for her own good.
