Wow Sophia Changes Fast

I just got back from a wedding in San Francisco. It sure has been a crazy couple weeks here for our family. First my sister Gretchen visited us for a couple days before she goes to Paraguay until April. Then Joel took Sophia to Texas so he could go to his 10th college reunion and Sophia could catch up with her Mema, Pepa, Auntie Kristen, Uncle Allen and cousins Luke, Drew, and Grace. We were together for two days and then I headed off to San Francisco.
It has been weird because I have been away from Sophia so much. I wasn't able to go. to Texas with Joel and Sophia. It was the first time I was away from Sophia overnight and it wasn't just one night but five nights. I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself with no baby and no husband around but I kept busy on all the projects that have been on the back burner since Sophia was born.
The crazy part was when Sophia came back how much she had changed in just 5 days. After five days she had learned to say "All Done" when she would do her sign language for all done. She had learned to play peek a boo by covering her face with her hands (before she always used a blanket, book, or some object to cover her eyes), she was running chasing after balls and saying the word ball, and when you asked if she was tired she would voluntarily rub her eyes as a way of saying yes.
I am also convinced that she learned how to count as well. While Tia G (my sister Gretchen) was visting she would walk up and down the stairs with Sophia counting on the way up and down. When Sophia came back from Texas she seemed to have figured out the pattern of syllables. I would say one, then she would say "twoooo", I would say two and she would say "fee". Then I would have to say four since she doesn't seem to be able to say four and then she will say "ive" for five. She seemed to have learned that those sounds go together. She doesn't understand the concept of numbers yet but I am amazed she was already putting numbers in a row.
It sure is good to be home and rock my baby to sleep.
Here is a picture of Sophia and Tia G together. Joel didn't take the camera to Texas so once I get some pictures from his mom and sister (hint, hint) I will post them on the blog.
