11 Months

Sophia turned 11 months while we in Meeker Park, Colorado at a continuing education event. We had an early birthday celebration while we were there since she got to be with both of her grandparents. Joel's parents were with us at Luther Academy of the Rockies along with his sister, Kristen and her husband, Allen and their three kids. My parents and sister, Gretchen and brother, Soren are all living in Denver so they came up for the day to Estes Park and brought along with Grandma Bettty for the pre-birthday celebration. It was quite an event since it was the weekend of the Scandinavian Festival in Estes Park. So of course Sophia got a Norwegian t-shirt. Since we were away we could not get a picture of her in the chair with the bear but we got the next best thing. Her in a chair with her new t-shirt on. Sophia is growing and changing so much these days. Her "words" are becoming clearer. She has about 5 "words" these days. Her favorite is dawg or a little barking noise. She LOVES dogs. She is a bit confused exactly what a dog is since she makes the same noise for horse and cat as well. But she is catching on. She also has started saying "A-O" and putting her hand up to her ear like she is saying "Hello" on the phone because she also LOVES the phone. She says "Dah-Dye" for Bye Bye as she waves and of course still says "Da-Da" No Ma-Ma yet. Somes times she will say ma, ma, ma as she is babbling but then when we say Ma-Ma she repeats back Ba-Ba. She has 1/2 a tooth on the bottom still but another one is on the way right next to it. She is getting better at walking and only holds one of our hands and can quickly go from one piece of furniture to the next. However, she thinks that she is more independent than she actually is and ends up with bruises from the various things that she bonked.
