Even though I am a "vegetarian" (not eating poutry or red meat) and Joel loves to garden and grow vegetables, Sophia has decided that she does not like vegetables. She loves to eat cereal and any fruit - apples, bannana, peaches. Pretty much anything sweet Sophia will eat. She can sometimes be coaxed to eat a few bites sweet potatoes or squash, but carrots of peas forget it. She just screams her head off, spits them back out at you, won't open her mouth, turns her head away, or pushes the spoon away if you are trying to give them to her. We are trying to mix the vegetables with applesauce to trick her into eating them. Sometimes it works other times not. Here is a picture of what Sophia's face looks like when she is being forced to eat vegetables. (As I was trying to get the picture for this post I discovered that Sophia is so into the camera that she would be screaming her head off and then as soon as I would put the camera up to try and take the picture she would stop crying and look up and give me a half smile. At first I thought it was a fluke but she did it every time. So finally I just kept the camera in front of my face and she at a whole jar of squash. I did try it with peas at dinner and no luck. She REALLY does not like the peas. )
