Sophia is now eight months old and babbling away. She has now learned the "dada" sound and loves to chatter away to herself or to anyone who will listen, but mostly loves to talk to her mama, dada, and Paige. A couple weeks ago she started to figure out the difference between strangers and familiar people. When she is with crowds she get very quiet and just looks all around but wants to make sure that she can see someone who she recognizes. She is now sitting up on her own and trying to crawl. She has not figured out how to get her butt in the air and her knees under her. She can get her right leg to push off but not the left so many times she just spins around in a circle. Every once and awhile she even scoots backwards as she uses her hands to try and push off and ends up pushing backwards. She is eating three meals a day of solid food but it is still the baby food because there still are no teeth yet. I tried to give her a little chunk of banana today to see if she could gum it, but she choked on it, so we will still give her baby food.
