Flower Girls

My sister, Gretchen, got married to Jim up in the mountains at a beautiful wedding where I officiated. Gretchen was a beautiful bride and you can see my head in the background of this picture.

The girls were flower girls in the wedding. They were so excited to be in the wedding and loved their dresses that they were going to wear and wanted to wear them every time they could think of an opportunity to wear a dress.

The only problem was that Wednesday before the wedding Sophia came down with a fever and just was not feeling right. I thought that this would surely pass by Saturday and kept her home and resting so that she would be in tip top shape for the wedding. No such luck. She was still feeling sick on Friday. All the family was in town so we wanted and needed to go to the wedding but were not sure about Sophia's status. Then Friday night Hannah came down with it and was exhausted crying and feverish. On Saturday they both were a mess and I was sure that they were never going to make it down the aisle for the wedding. When we took pictures before the wedding it was "too sunny" so they would not cooperate.

Somehow Joel managed to convince them that if they wore sunglasses everything would be fine and that they should go down the aisle. Since I was up front I had to leave it in Joel's hands. He did an amazing job and they made down.
