July Fourth Fireworks

Hannah and Sophia loved the fireworks that we could see from our backyard. Sophia was mesmerized by it all and just stared at the sky. Hannah on the other hand was not so sure about this fireworks thing. She first wanted to go inside because of the loud noise. She cried out, "Hold me, mama, I scared." So I held her and tried to take her inside, but then she would cry because she was just staring at the sky and wanted to keep watching. Then she started saying, "Boom, crash, boom." "I see smoke. Yeah, smoke." Or "Look at the sparkle, mama." "I see green." or "I see purple." But my favorite was in the middle of the fireworks show she said, "I need sunblock." She knew it was bright out there and knew that she needs sunblock when it is bright. It was quite entertaining getting the running commentary from Hannah on July 4th.

Yes, it was a gorgeous conclusion to 2 wonderful weeks! THANK YOU so very much for giving up so much of your time and sharing 3 bedrooms and 1 bath with all this wild gang! I'm glad age has some rank...it was nice to have the downstairs bedroom this time that Joel and Sonja got last time because they had a baby! It was fun, too, to go separate ways and share all the activity stories as we gathered for meals. We are so blessed!
