We have been trying to teach Sophia that Christmas is about Jesus coming. She is quite excited for Jesus to come to celebrate his birthday. She has decided that he wants a "pink birthday cake." She also knows that she gets presents when it is Christmas. The problem is that Christmas still seems a long way off. So she often asks us if it is Christmas yet.
She was quite confused about a week ago when they had the Christmas progam at Joel's church and there was Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus in a manger. The whole performance she wanted to go and see baby Jesus. We kept telling her it was just a doll but she had to see for herself. Here she is checking it out.
