One Week Old

Hannah is doing great her first week of life. Here is a picture of her sleeping with the bear. She still sleeps much of the time but is starting to be awake a bit more.
She went to the doctor on Friday and weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces. She is starting to gain back to her birth weight. At her lowest she was 5 pounds 11 ounces on Monday.
The first week of Sophia's life felt like it was a month long because we had so many issues with Sophia not nursing enough. Hannah has had none of those problems. She took right to nursing and loves to eat. She even has started to cluster feed, which means, eat every hour from about 6-11 p.m. or so. Then she sleeps for about 3-4 hours in a row - midnight to 4 a.m. then we are awake for about an hour nursing, chaning diapers, etc. Then she is back to sleep until around 7 a.m. I don't actually get to sleep until 7 because Sophia wakes up around 6:30 a.m. But she is letting mama sleep much more than I expected at this point. It seems that she only cries for a reason - hungry, want attention, gas, need a diaper change. Once that need is taken care of the crying stops.
Joel says that Sophia was difficult the first week or two and has been a breeze ever since. So with Hannah it will be the opposite. Easy the first week or two and then a challenge after that. We will just have to wait and see.
Sophia is adjusting well to being a big sister and loves to "hug" Hannah and pat her back so that Hannah will "make bubbles" (or in other words - burp).
