Dog Food and Sticks
Now that Sophia is able to pick up very small things between her thumb and forefinger we have entered a whole new world. She can feed herself cheerios and chunks of fruit or vegetables. But she also loves to pick up anything small on the floor and put it in her mouth. Twice now I have found her eating these small white painted sticks about 3/4 inch long. I would look in her mouth and see something white in there. I had been watching her both times, but she must pick things up when my head is turned. That is the only way I can figure it out. The second time I went on a hunt for the source of the white painted sticks and discovered that it was a white wicker basket which had been on the floor. Then today when Joel was watching her he put her down on the basement while he folded laundry and before you know it she had something in her mouth. This time it was a piece of dog food. Our level of vigilance has just stepped up a notch to watch anything that she might put in her mouth. Always something new and exciting.
