Sophia was baptized on Saturday, October 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Joel's church, Abiding Presence Lutheran Church. It was a joyous occasion. Many of the members from my congregation were able to come to the service and pariticipate in the worship. We also had lots of friends in attendance. One of the members of my church said they had never been in a room with so many clergy except for an ordination. It was so great to be able to have so many people able to celebrate Sophia's baptism with us. This photo is of Sophia with all her godparents - Kristen and Allen Benton - her aunt and uncle, and Dan Whitener, Tracie Bartholomew, Olivia and Ethan Whitener. Dan is the other pastor at Abiding Presence and Tracie is the Assitant to the Bishop here in New Jersey but most of all they, along with their children, are friends who will be able to support Sophia as she grows in faith. We rejoice that Sophia is a child of God through her baptism.
